WaveLinQ MultiWAVE 1550B Optical Carrier Analyzer
Fiber optic transmission systems which incorporate Optical Amplifiers and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) are more complicated to install and operate than traditional single wavelength regenerated systems. Photonic performance measurement capabilities are now required to determine system margins and isolate optical component problems associated with these systems. The MultiWAVE Optical Carrier Analyzer provides these capabilities to support the installation and maintenance of optically amplified WDM systems.
The MultiWAVE 1550B Optical Carrier Analyzer performs precise wavelength and power measurements for optical signals in the 1527 to 1565 nm region. The MultiWAVE 1550B Optical Carrier Analyzer also estimates the optical signal-to-noise ratio for each optical carrier present in the system as well as the WDM rejection of adjacent carriers in the system. Complicated set-up and configuration procedures associated with typical lab equipment have been eliminated. The easy to use user interface also features context sensitive help screens.
With the optional FileLinQ software, data may be downloaded from the MultiWAVE Optical Carrier Analyzer to a PC compatible laptop or workstation. FileLinQ incorporates an easy to use graphical user interface and communicates with the MultiWAVE Optical Carrier Analyzer over any of the PC's available serial ports.
The MultiWAVE 1550B Optical Carrier Analyzer Applications include Installation Test and Turn-Up, Maintenance and Trouble-shooting, Optical Parameter Measurement for Quality Assurance, and use as a Programmable Wavelength Demultiplexer/Tracking Filter.
