Tracks skidsteer made to fit 10X16.5 skid steer tires
The difference between these tracks and more expensive tracks is the price only. We are the original in chain style tracks and our materials are still the best on the market.
We do not list an inferior product at a cheaper price to lure you in, then tell you your machine is too powerful and needs a more expensive product. Our tracks will fit your machine based on the measurements below.
THIS SET will fit machines with 10 x 16.5 tires and up to a 49" wheelbase (measured from CENTER of front tire to CENTER of rear tire). Our tracks are compatible with Bobcat as well as with Cat, Gehl, Case, New Holland, John Deere and all the rest.
TO WATCH OUR TRACKS IN ACTION, click on one of the GREEN UNDERLINED WORDS below.
The FIRST_VIDEO is shortest for slower connections.
The SECOND_VIDEO is medium size.
The THIRD_VIDEO is longer BUT WELL WORTH THE WAIT, it was taken at the end of the day after everything turned into SOUP and anyone who works in mud knows EXACTLY what we mean.
Please note, we DID NOT add any of the water you will see in the videos... we were into the actual local ground water table and we were working in slick, nasty, red clay and mud. If we stepped out of the machine we literally sunk to our knees.
Our tracks are made from 7/16 MANGANESE ALLOY side chain which is specifically designed for use with tires.
This is not just an ordinary run of the mill case hardened graded tow/transport chain, that type of chain is designed for straight pull applications where constant movement and high wear are not major factors. This new and improved version of our Deluxe Tracks is made from EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY MANGANESE ALLOY Chain. This chain upgrade now cost us DOUBLE what it originally cost us to make our tracks from graded chains, BUT because the Manganese Alloy Chain is so rugged and strong, our tracks are now lasting as much as 4 times LONGER then they use to!! We feel this is WELL WORTH the added cost. The chain is made from steel mixed with MANGANESE & a combination of other elements and it is manufactured specifically for use in these types of high wear applications. We had an independent lab test this chain in our lighter 3/8 size for load strength and it did not fail until WELL OVER 24,000 pounds of pull was applied....THAT IS AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF PULL!! We are now using 7/16 so the load strength is going to be even higher.
We just got the test results in from the lab ....our 7/16" chains did not fail until OVER 39,000 pounds of pull !!!!!! WOW.
It is very important to point out the following reasons for using this chain and how we design our tracks:
1) When the tracks travel around the wheels the pivot points are the chain links and are subject to constant wearing whenever the machine is moving in order to give a long life expectancy they need to be made of a material that is designed for high wear.
2) When heat is applied (in the process of welding the cleats to the chain) the properties of this Alloy chain are not changed and the strength and high wear resistance of the Alloy chains remains constant. This results in a MUCH longer lasting set of tracks (in comparison, when heat is applied to a graded case hardened tow or transport chain (i.e. grade 70 or grade 80), the links to which the cleats are welded can loose their heat treated case hardening and they can actually become soft or brittle this of course makes for a set of tracks that will constantly stretch and wear out quickly at these weakened points).
3) When we attach our cleats to this style chain they are "end welded" (part of our Pat. Pend. Design) this not only brings the chain further down the side of the tire for a much more secure fit, it also protects your tires because it covers the sharp end of the cleats, only allowing the smooth surface of the chains to come in contact with the tires sidewalls.
4) Finally, still another major added benefit of the longer link of the Alloy Side Chain is that it allots for 2 full inches of WELD being applied to the inside and another 2 full inches on the outside of each and every contact point between the cleat and the chain. This totals 8 INCHES OF VERY DEEP PENETRATING & EXTREMELY STRONG WELDING TO EVERY CLEAT.....this equates to approx. 25 feet of welding for every set of tracks we make. All of this may sound like "over-kill", but you can definitely depend on our welds and our chains to stand up to the abuse they will be exposed to during use.
We have done uncountable hours of experimenting and testing over the years to come up with the ideal product and we take a lot of pride in it. We KNOW that our tracks will turn your machine into a real workhorse; no more getting stuck in the mud and it will be able to climb almost anything and they are designed to take the abuse. The tracks come with everything needed including instructions, chain connectors and a binder tool for making a proper and professional installation.
The traction from our tracks is provided by the leading edge of the cleats digging into the ground surface as they come around the tires and the floatation is provided by the flats of the cleats, as they travel between the wheels. We have experimented with dozens of configurations and have found that placing cleats too closely together prevents proper clean-out and can also lead to too much floatation which can actually robe some of the traction. A proper spacing provides the necessary amount of flotation and an extreme amount of added traction. The majority of wear during use is absolutely, without a doubt, to the chains and NOT the cleats (in fact the cleats get far less wear than one would think, unless you are using them on paved surfaces, which of course steel tracks are NOT designed for). For this reason, we cannot emphasize enough of how important the use of our high quality and rugged Alloy chain is. IN FACT, the use of our Manganese Alloy Chain and our several various configurations of our tracks have improved the performance, life expectancy and durability of these tracks so much that we have actually been able to apply for a new US PATENT and we are now proud to announce that our tracks are in fact US Pat. Pending. As soon as our new Patent Number arrives it will be posted here.
Our tracks are designed to fit all brand tires in there respected tire size, that way when it comes time to purchase a new set of tires for your machine you will NOT have to worry about purchasing a new set of tracks.
Our demo sets have been put under EXTREME conditions over and over again (please see pictures and videos) they have purposely been USED AND ABUSED and everyone, including several major skid steer brand dealers, who have tried them have all been very impressed with the improvement in digging, floatation and traction...it's like turning your skid steer into a mini bulldozer and now with the use of Alloy chains they will provide a much longer life expectancy as well.
We recommend a clearance of NO LESS than 2-1/2 inches between the inside sidewalls of the tires and the body of the machine to allow for working room for the chains. If you do not already have this clearance (most modern machines already have more than enough room) then you will probably be able to just flip your rims to gain added room (dished out), if at this point you still do not have at least 2-1/2" inches of clearance (very rare) then you will need to get wheel spacers from your local dealer. OWNERS of New Holland machines please note: we have had dozens and dozens of New Holland owners say it looked like flipping the rims will actually bring the tires closer PLEASE TRY IT ANYWAY it is deceiving to date, every New Holland owner who has tried to flip the rims actually found they DID in fact gain the needed space.
