Modutec vu meter for ampex MM1200, urei 1176, LA3, L4
These are new old stock Modutec VU meters which are OEM replacements for the Ampex MM1100 and MM1200 2 inch tape recorders. It also fits these UREI compressors, 1176, 1176LN, 1178, LA3, LA4, LA5. When used in the UREI equipment, the zero adjustment screw is hidden behind the front panel, but otherwise it fits perfectly in the bezel (mounting frame). The zero can be set before installing the meter and it will remain stable for a very long time. It works with the older style lamps mounted on a bracket above, or the newer small lamps that slip into the meter body near the lower corners. We also have bezels available if yours is broken. It is possible to remove the meter card (the background piece where the scale is printed) and replace it with the card from your bad meter. In this way, the UREI logo is preserved.
