6 barnevelder - chicken hatching eggs ~pure~

I just wanted to add this note. These birds are turning out to be as good of a layer and ANY other breed I have. This bird is mainly considered a colder weather bird and is supposed to be a good cold weather layer. It has been from the upper 80's for highs down to the upper 50's for highs and the change did not affect them at all. The number of eggs per day did not drop like the rest of the breeds. A 30 degree swing in temp is pretty drastic on a chicken and can cause them to stop production, but not these hens.
The Barnevelder is a medium heavy breed of chicken named after the Dutch town of Barneveld. It is a cross of 19th century Dutch landrace chickens with Asian breeds imported to Europe in the mid-late 19th century such as the Brahma, Cochin, Croad Langshan and Malay. Today, Barnevelders are bred both as a utility breed and a show breed. They are medium heavy dual-purpose chickens laying a good number of eggs but also yielding a reasonable carcass. They are hardy birds and good foragers. Many flocks now lay eggs of a much lighter brown than before and are sometimes not quite as productive as befits their reputation. They are good winter layers and have a quiet disposition.
I am having a great success rate with hatching eggs here myself, and I send only the very freshest eggs, but I cannot guarantee the hatchability of these eggs once they leave my care. I will promise the eggs will be fertile and fresh.
