Powers common Xenon and Hg-Xe lamps such as type; XBO, UHP, UXL, UHE, SMR, SMH & others.
Operates all "filament" type e.g., tungsten-halogen type lamps of appropriate ratings as well.

Listing contains the power supply unit along with the arc lamp igniter module, This module supplies the ignition pulse required to start short arc lamps.
By it s self the power supply represents a highly regulated dc power supply. The base power supply provides a tightly regulated extremely low ripple dc current / voltage source required for stable luminous output of short-arc lamps. This also happens to work exceptionally well as a general high stability power supply for resistive filament type lamps e.g. tungsten-halogen, where high stability in luminous output is required.
When wishing to operate an arc style lamp the ignition module is utilized. When the ignition button is pressed the power supply sends a short ~800V pulse to the ignition module where it passes to the pulse network (shown in pic s with static spark gaps) and the final ignition pulse of ~30kv dc is generated and sent to start the lamp. FYI -this is a series triggering scheme.
The ignition function can be set to manual or automatic mode via selector switch on front panel. The power supply is intelligent in that it can sense if the lamp has started and can detect if the arc has extinguished during operation. When in the automatic mode the supply will re-strike the arc automatically until the lamp is functioning again.
This power supply comes complete with everything pictured. This unit is tested and in like new working order. It has been professionally tested, cleaned and inspected.
Physically, unit is in like new condition with the exception of some minor surface scratches and small rust stain around screw hole shown in picture.
This unit was tested with a 150W short arc -Hg xenon lamp. Check you individual lamp specifications to determine compatibility.
Great for microscopy illumination sources, scientific light sources, UV and deep UV sources. Unit may have general use as a high stability power supply for other appropriate resistive loads as well.
