5" variable air capacitor butterfly magnetic loop tuner

You have three model sizes to choose from:
Stack of Plates, showing various sizes
In order to determine the number of plates that you require, please use our on line capacitance Calculator.
The plate size that is right for your application will depend on your capacitance needs and any physical size restrictions. The smaller the plate used, the lower the maximum capacitance per plate. However, the total capacitance can be increased with the addition of more plates stacked.
The Duke is currently our smallest offering. The Diameter of the Duke Rotor Plate measures 3" across.
The King is our mid sized capacitor plate, having a Rotor diameter of 5".
The Emperor is a MONSTER capacitor, boasting a Rotor Plate diameter of 8", for a total surface area of 25.5 square inches.
All of our capacitor components are manufactured here in North America using the latest in CNC Laser Cutting Technology. We use high grade aluminum, with a thickness of .040" which provides the perfect balance between weight and rigidity. Our Capacitor plates (Rotors & Stators) have carefully engineered contours which will aid in reducing unwanted arcing between the plates.
These plates can be used to make various low loss butterfly type capacitors that may be used for various RF circuits such as Magnetic Loop Antennas, Antenna Tuners and Amplifiers to name a few. Use our on line calculator to determine the best combination for your specific needs.
Completing your variable capacitor is very simple with our Rotor and Stator plates. Each purchase is for ONE (1) Rotor and ONE (1) set of Stator Plates. The 8" Emperor Rotor Plate is keyed for a 3/8" hex rod. The other two Rotors use 1/4" hex rod. The 8" Emperor Stators have two 1/4" mounting holes, the 5" King Stators have two 3/16" mounting holes and the Duke Stators have two 1/8" mounting holes. Assembly is very easy, simply stack the Rotor plates on the hex rod, and stack the Stator Plates on either threaded or Solid Rod with appropriate spacers. There are various ways of spacing the plates, 1) Aluminum tube of the appropriate diameter cut to the required spacing length, 2) Stacking washers etc.
For an additional cost, we will be providing some standard sized spacers and rods in the near future.
