Trek high-voltage amplifier/supply model PD07083

TREK Model PD07083 Power Amplifier/Supply
This is a factory engineered and modified model, similar to Trek model 677B but extending accuracy and range. This model's factory specifications as built are detailed below and are listed in this model's specific original owner's manual provided.
The Trek Model PD07083 is a high-voltage power amplifier/supply unit for precise control of output voltages in the range of 0 to 2 kV DC or peak AC with an output current range of 0 to 5 mA DC or peak AC. The Model PD07083 can be operated in one of two modes: as a high-voltage amplifier where it is configured as a noninverting amplifier with a fixed gain of 500 V/V, or as a high-voltage power supply which responds to front panel controls to command an exact output voltage or current.
The Model PD07083 features an all-solid-state design for high slew rate, wide bandwidth, and low-noise operation. The four-quadrant, active output stage sinks or sources current into reactive or resistive loads throughout the output voltage range. This is essential for achieving the accurate output response and high slew rates demanded by reactive loads.
The Model PD07083 is protected against over-voltage and over-current conditions that may be generated by active loads or by output short circuits to ground.
The Digital Enable feature provides a connection for a remote device to turn on and off the high-voltage output. This makes the Model PD07083 suitable for automated or computer-controlled systems.
The Model PD07083 can be operated on a bench top or, with optional hardware, in a standard 19-inch rack.
* Output Voltage Range Amplifier Mode

Adjustable from 0 to +2 kV DC or 0 to -2 kV DC with 1 V resolution.
0 to 5 mA DC or peak AC with an adjustable current limit.
Better than 0.1% of full scale.
Less than 100 mV rms (measured using the true rms feature of the Hewlett Packard Model 34401A digital multimeter).
Less than 100 ppm/hour, noncumulative.
* Drift with Temperature
Less than 350 ppm/ C.
Better than 0.025% for a line change from 90 to 110 V AC, 103 to 127 V AC, or 207 to 250 V AC.
Better than 0.025% for a load change from 0 to 5 mA.
* Slew Rate (10% to 90%, typical)
* Large Signal Bandwidth (1% distortion)
DC to greater than 1.2 kHz.
* Small Signal Bandwidth (-3dB)
DC to greater than 5 kHz.
Less than 300 s for a 2 kV step.
A three-position switch to select on, off or remote. (See "Digital Enable" for information pertaining to remote on/off.)
Selects either the Amplifier or Supply mode of operation.
* Supply Mode Voltage Control
A multiturn control to set the desired output voltage as indicated by the digital display.
A two-position rocker switch.
Adjustable from 0 mA to 5 mA. A multiturn control is used to set the current limit as indicated by the digital display. A yellow LED will illuminate when the instrument is in a current limit condition.
* Current Limit Set Accuracy
Better than 1% of setting.
A 3-1/2-digit LED display can be selected to indicate the voltage output, the voltage setting (supply mode), the current output or the current limit setting. Two rocker switches are used to select the quantity displayed.

* Resolution when Displaying Voltage
* Resolution when Displaying Current
1 count, referred to the Voltage and Current Monitors.
A buffered output providing a low-voltage representation of the high-voltage output signal.
1/1000th of the high-voltage output signal.
Better than 0.1% of full scale. (May degrade to 0.6% in the presence of RF fields up to 3 V/m.)

A buffered output providing a low-voltage representation of the load current.
Better than 1% of full scale.
DC to greater than 800 Hz.
An input for connection of a TTL compatible signal to turn on and off the high-voltage output when the High Voltage switch is in the Remote position. A TTL high (or open) will turn off the high-voltage output. A TTL low will turn on the high-voltage output.
