Restaurant, bar, motorcycle rental business guatemala

For Sale a turnkey restaurant/bar in El Remate, Guatemala. Business is fully furnished and operating. The current lease is good for two more years. However, you would be able to extend or change any way you liked. The rent is a paltry $150 a month. El Remate is located 20 minutes south of the Mayan ruin site of Tikal. The restaurant is 250 yards to the lake, and located right on the main road. It is in front of the most popular hostal in town, and across the street from the basketball court. Every tourist that comes this direction passes directly in front. It is the ideal location for a business, great view of the lake and easily accessible for all travelers. There is a large dining room, bar area, along with good sized kitchen. The best part of the place is outside, in front, where there is a large shaded area perfect for outdoor caf (very European). It would be ideal for a couple or group of friends, its been difficult for me as I am the only owner. Anyone wanting to learn Spanish, this gives you the perfect opportunity to speak everyday. It has 3 bathrooms and a little apartment included, an option would be to let the cook live there, as larger houses are very cheap to rent. Everything in the restaurant would be yours, There is a very nice (large) grill that I use, and some of the chairs and tables are not mine, but your free to use them, everything else I m selling with the business.
2 UM 200cc 2007 Motorcycles, work fine (used as a moto rental business- tours of the lake are very popular, crocodile tours, as well as your personal explorations.)
200 + DVD s, movie night is a must, as there isn t much to do at night and not all tourists want to drink every night.
Very nice, high quality wooden fooseball table (table football) Europeans love this.
3 nice wooden tables and 20 +/- wooden chairs. There are 6 more glass tables and 20 +/- more chairs (however they re not mine, but you use them for outside) Bar stools as well are included.
Fully stocked bar- It s the largest most elaborate bar outside of Guatemala City or Antigua. More than 100 bottles in storage as well. Liquor I ve brought from El Salvador and Honduras that no one else has: Jaeger, Corralejo Tequila. Lots of rum, Sambuka, lots of Whiskey, Gin, Tequila, Southern Comfort bottles. (you won t run out of hard liquor for a while) Good liquor too, Jim Beam, Bombay, flor de cana, Zacapa, Seagrams, Captain Morgan.
Large collection of glasses, (mixed drinks) shot glasses, wine glasses, shakers. Everything you would need for a bar. Lots of beer as well.
5 Different painted red frog signs.
6 burner stove with oven a mini fridge.
Posters, beer signs, pictures of rock stars (stuff you would see in a bar)
5 Speaker, 1 sub remote controlled stereo system. (good music helps immensely)
Decent book selection (book exchanges are popular)
Lots of kitchen supplies: enough plates, silverware, bowls, Tupperware, pots and pans to serve plenty of people. I ve had restaurants for almost 4 years now, this is my collection of acquired items over the years.
Brand new blender, old fashioned milk shake machine, new toaster, toaster over, new microwave, coffee pot, george foreman grill, rice cooker (more stuff than you ll use)
There is also a large chicken rotisserie, you would be the only place in town with grilled chicken.
Fully stocked kitchen, lots of spices, sauces, hot sauces.
(everything else that s here : binoculars, wine racks, maps, signs for writing specials, hammock etc too much stuff to list)
This is a successful business in a gorgeous location with sunshine 365 days a year. This is the prettiest part of Lago Itza, I swim everyday. We re 3 minutes from a very popular hiking destination through the jungle, filled with monkeys, snakes, jaguars among other wildlife. Within walking distance to the Mayan Ruins of Ixlu. El Remate is an up and coming travel destination, not quite as popular as Flores, or Antigua, but it will be. After the recent discovery of Lake Atitlan s contamination, it makes El Remate that much nicer. One of the prettier lakes I ve ever seen.
Just with the motorcycle rentals, book exchange, bar and movie night, you ll turn a profit. By throwing in the big grill and a nice food menu, you ll do just fine.
Comes with business and liquor licenses. My lawyer can put the licenses in your name.
My expenses are very minimal. Employees ask about $7 a day, electricity is about $75 a month, beer is cheap. There is a large super market 20 min away that has everything needed to run a rest/bar.
I m asking a very reasonable $10,000.
