Control every feature of your radio from your computer screen. Make a change on the screen and the change instantly happens on the radio. Make a change on the radio and that change instantly shows on the computer screen. Wow! Switch modes from USB to LSB to CW to RTTY to AM to FM to whatever. Instantly switch from one band to another AND also have ANY desired frequency in that band show on the screen and on the radio. Click a control on the screen and scan an entire band, OR scan a selected portion of any band OR scan selected memory channels OR ... well, you get the idea.
Want to instantly jump to a frequency of 18,110.00 on 17 meters? Just click on that frequency on the 17 meter frequency bar. Notice that there is a bar for all the bands. They do not all fit on the screen, but they can be scrolled up and down. More about those band bars later!
HRD comes with these Dem-O-Matic radios: ORION, K2, TS-480, TS-570 and TS-2000
Installation is simple, just Install the software, connect a CAT or CIV control cable and Start! For digital modes you will also need a PC<->Radio interface. Several are described on the CD.
NOTE: The radios that this software has been tested with are listed above. If your radio is NOT listed, then this software may not work. If your radio IS listed, then this software has been tested with that brand and model of radio. Check your user manual to see how to control your radio. Most of the radios listed above have a jack on the back of the radio for control. It may be called a CAT interface.or it may go by some other name. Icom calls it the CT-17 interface. Somewhere in your radio manual there is information on controllling the radio from an interface jack that is on your radio. On some radios that interface may be an option. On most modern radios it is included. CHECK YOUR MANUAL for details. The CAT interface will enable you to do all the things shown above. If you want to do the digital modes (PSK31, Olivia, Throb, etc, then you need a Computer Sound Card to Radio Interface. There are schematics on the internet to build your own. There are many commercial versions available also. There is information on the CD regarding places to acquire the needed interfaces as well as a description of the best (and lest expensive) one.
