NATIONAL INSTRUMENT SERVICE CORP is offering
this Nikon Auto Ref Keratometer, model NRK-8000. Unit is in a nice cosmetic condition with just a few very minor scratches.
The unit is fully functional including the built-in printer. Although I am not an end user of this equipment I did observe the following during its operation:
- Unit turns on, goes through a self test and initial screen appears.
- I had someone sit on the patient side. The camera focuses on the patients eye automatically, once the unit is positioned in the center of the eye. The little tree auto focuses inside the unit and a * star appears over the eye in the screen. Readings taken off of the one patient are the same as patients current glasses prescription.
- Once I took both L left and R right eye I pressed the printer button and a full printed break down of both eyes was printed. All characters on the printer paper were perfect. Printer paper in this unit is running low so you will have to order more paper if you choose to purchase this item.
- There is absolutely no flickering of any kind, nor any lines running on the screen.
- The camera view, once properly aligned is very sharp.
- The unit takes a reading every single time the joystick is pressed. There are absolutely no skips with the joystick.
- Camera elevation works smooth as you rotate the joystick.
- Head and chin rest assembly moves up and down very smoothly when the knob is turned.
