The DP-01 has two microphone inputs on 6.3-mm TRS jacks for dual mono or stereo recording. Up to eight tracks can be recorded at uncompressed CD quality to an internal 40GB hard drive and there is an additional stereo master track for recording a mix. Each channel of the DP-01 has a fader plus dedicated controls for pan, effects send, high EQ and low EQ. For each channel, the user can select the operating frequencies of both the low and high EQs. An LC display shows meters and helps editing settings and locate points. The DP-01 has a USB 2.0 jack for file backup, importing and exporting tracks and transferring mixes to a computer. There are analogue RCA line outputs, an SPDIF optical line output, stereo return, headphone out with level control and a MIDI out for MIDI Timecode or MIDI Clock. Track editing functions include cut, copy, paste, move, erase, silence and multiple levels of undo/redo.
The DP-01FX adds XLR microphone inputs with phantom power for connecting professional condenser microphones, a multi-effects processor for adding effects to an instrument during recording and a reverb processor for adding effects during a mix.
