Baxter/Heraeus Haemofuge Centrifuge
For sale- a Baxter Scientific Products Haemofuge Centrifuge Model 3522, made by Heraeus Instruments in Germany. It only seems to want to go one speed, 12,000RPM, which is the max for the rotor that WAS installed. I had another 3522 that I was able to change the speed on, so I don t know why this one cannot be set at any other speed. I pulled the rotor out of this one to sell with the other centrifuge, so the rotor is NOT included. The rotor looked like it would be for some type of capillary tube, probably associated with spinning blood samples? Looked like the catalog number for the rotor might have been 1070, but the lettering was wearing off so it is hard to say for sure. Again, no rotor included in this sale.
The centrifuge is in very good physical condition inside and out, and seems to spin just fine as long as you only want to go 12,000 RPM. Perhaps it can be reset at another speed and I just don t know the trick, but I didn t have any such problem with the other one. Maybe it would work differently with a different rotor installed, but I doubt it. Best case is that somebody programmed it for 12,000 and locked it at that speed to prevent errors, and possibly that programming can be changed. Or maybe it is just good for parts or repair. Untested other than as described, and no warranty is offered..
