Fitel S175 fusion splicer V2000, S323 cleaver, fujikura
The S175/V2000 has remained one of the most sought after splicers for the past 10 years. More durable/reliable/accurate than the Fitel S176, 177, 182A/K and Fujikura FSM40S and FSM50S, to name a few. It has much better optical components than competing models (larger, higher-quality cameras/lenses), a much sharper fiber image, a high-contrast LCD for reduced eyestrain and a very easy-to-navigate menu. Most of the internal mechanical/structural parts are stainless steel or alloy. The alignment/camera motors are smooth, fast, precise- and built to last well over 100k splices. The S175 is very capable of splicing dissimilar/specialty fibers and has many parameters that may be adjusted to optimize fiber inspection, splicing and loss estimation. In a darkened room/environment, two amber LED's help to illuminate the splicing area under the windshield.
The S323 fiber cleaver is much more precise and durable than most other manual cleavers. S323's consistently yield precision cleaves, flat end-faces, no hackle and minimal scribe witnessing. This cleaver is in excellent condition and has been set up/adjusted to factory spec. The lid hinge, blade carriage and fiber retrieval mechanism operate as good as new. The blade was just turned to a new position (4.5) and height set for 125um fiber. Plenty of life left on the blade.
