DR-1 Series resistance dither unit
This is used for calibrating resistance changes as part of "phase tracking", a technique employed in capacitative measurement experiments. The DR-1 can be used with any patch-clamp amplifier, but is most effective with the Axopatch 200B, which has a complementary capacitance dithering circuit built into the main unit.The DR-1 is suitable for finding the phase tracking angle in capacitance measurement experiments using an Axopatch 200B amplifier.
In the passive state the DR-1 connects directly to ground. When activated by an external signal input (5 V at 25 mA) the DR-1 inserts a 500 k resistor in series with the bath ground.
