* This unit has the 2D Scanner (Pico Imager) which is far superior to the 1D model. It scans both 1D and 2D barcodes and scans much faster than the 1D-only model. The Model Number is MC5040-PK0DBQEA8WR. This model is also functionally equivalent to Model number PK0DBQEA7WR except that model has the standard capacity battery vs. the extended capacity battery included with this item. It is also functionally equivalent to part number PK0DBQEE1WW which the old part number Symbol used for the 2D/Qwerty model prior to minor changes made to achive RoHS (lead-free manufacturing) compliance. The MC5040 comes standard with Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition Operating System.
* These units can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 5.0. Please ask us if you require a unit with Windows Mobile 5.0
* The terminal is in excellent working condition. The terminal is also in very good cosmetic condition. The screen is in very good condition with only minor imperfections. The rear of the MC5040 is in great shape. The holder for the stylus securely holds the stylus in, and the handstrap is in very good condition.
* The terminal comes complete with battery, stylus, handstrap, leather case, USB communications/charging cradle, and power supply.
* With its built-in IEEE802.11b compliant wireless Networking card, the MC5040 can connect to wi-fi networks at full 11mpbs data transfer rate.
* The only software included with the sale is what comes factory installed by Symbol on the terminal. This includes "scanwedge.exe" which allows the terminal to scan a barcode into any application. It also includes things like Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, etc. which, along with the scanwedge.exe application, would allow you to start collecting barcode data right out of the box.
* We also have other accessories for the MC5040 such as extended capacity batteries (3600 mAh), screen protectors, 4-slot USB/charging cradles, 4-slot battery chargers, metal stylus's and tethered stylus's.

We have thoroughly tested the PDA and have verified that the terminal powers on, boots up normally, passes all self tests, scans 1D & 2D barcodes, communicates and charges through the bottom port and associates with a wireless access point. One battery is included in the sale. The battery is used but it charges up and holds a charge for an extended period of time, so it should give good service. The seller will replace the battery if not completely satisfied.
