This gold leaf is neither new nor used; it was produced several years ago by Kingsley, but is still in excellent condition and has not been used. Back when it was produced 23K gold was required for imprinting on genuine leather, because the cheaper gold foils contained chemicals that reacted adversely with the tanning oil in leather; the result was an imprint that slowly turned to an ugly green, kinda like tarnished copper. But now, foil producers have changed their formulas to eliminate this problem so 23K gold is not required for imprinting on leather, but it certainly adds a nice touch to fine leather items. Plus it has it's own richness that other foils can't duplicate. Use this 23K gold to imprint fine leather Bibles, wallets, pad folio covers, etc.
Early in 2009, I "officially" retired from my 35 year long labor of love, along with my wife June, as the founder and president of The Bible House Inc. It is now in the capable hands of our daughter Karmen, with our assistance, of course, as needed. More than a year ago, I resumed an old hobby of mine, rebuilding Kingsley Hot Stamping machines, which I intended to continue as my "retirement hobby." Well, I'm afraid it has become more than a hobby. I have now cleaned and rebuilt more than 200 Kingsley machines. Needless to say, I am absolutely overwhelmed and I am having considerable difficulty keeping up with the orders. . .a pleasant problem for me, but not for you. So, since I must rebuild machines to order, I will appreciate your patience and understanding.
