New artigiano 2.5 kg electric coffee shop roaster -

We love the Artigiano Roaster! This particular roaster is brand new, with three test batches roasted on it to check it out. We originally installed it in our coffee shop as we were planning on roasting there as well as at another location, but then decided to remove it and use the counter space for more retail inventory instead. We roasted three test batches on it, and they turned out wonderfully.
We use an older version of this roaster (our older one does not have the digital temperature gauge that this roaster has) when someone wants just 5 lbs of a particular coffee (our larger roaster does 25 lbs at a time) and consider it very reliable. We bought this roaster direct from Coffee-Tech in Tel-Aviv, Israel in late 2007, but did not un-crate it until June 2008, and then installed it in our shop. It was used three times. Its retail purchase price was $6,500.
Coffee-Tech has always been very easy to deal with if we've had a question or needed a part. They are easily reached both by email and by phone, and are very responsive. I will include the full manual that they gave us, as well as my contact persons' names and numbers.
What we love about the Artigiano Roasters is that they are so easy to operate. Just hook up your venting to the roaster and you are good to go. We just used standard ventilation piping from Home Depot. Nothing fancy.
2.4 kg batch capacity (5 lbs.)
38W Cyclone and Cooling Blower
Weight 45 kg (about 100 pounds)
Measurements of the roaster itself: 34"L x 27"H x 14" W
Height/Width of cyclone: 38" x 20" (including side arms)
Materials: Carbon Steel, Stainless, Aluminum tray
This roaster should produce 15-20 pounds of roasted coffee an hour, depending on the beans that you are roasting, as well as how dark you are roasting them. It's a true "work horse" and is great for a coffee shop, or small production setup. The first roaster that we bought like this was actually installed in a shed in our backyard. The roaster has a "sampler" on the front so that you can easily sample beans, as well as a clear window so that you can watch the color change. There is a fan below the cooling tray. Just turn it on as you dump the beans from the roasting chamber and it does a fantastic job of pulling any smoke down, and then through the ventilation system. You will get a puff of smoke where the venting exits the building at that moment, but it stays nice and smoke-free indoors. (But ah, that aroma!!!) The funnel/hopper at the top holds 5 lbs of beans, so it's easy to have the next batch of green beans ready and waiting.
