Lightweight Perlite Concrete Mix
Here we have a new product made for mixing in concrete to make whatever you re doing lighter in weight. This has been around a long time, but I am now able to bring it directly to the Homeowner and Craftsman at Distributor Pricing in a 4 Cubic Foot Bag.
Here are some of the things that it has been used for::
Chimney Linings Garden Statues Tile Mortars Floor Systems Underground Piping
Tank Bases Pool Bases Fuel Tanks Tank Insulation - Counter Tops Planter Pots
Decorative Brick Gas Fireplace Logs Etc ? .
Just about anything you would make with concrete. Very Multipurpose ? ?
The following product guide contains various mix designs for lightweight concrete, utilizing perlite as the primary aggregate. This guide provides some basic design mixes, which may be used as stated or as a starting point for your own custom mixes.
Proper Mixing will assure the maximum yield and uniformity. Low shear, low RPM mixers (similar to plaster mixers) are recommended for best results.
1. Add all materials except perlite to mixer; then mix until this slurry is fairly uniform. About 2 minutes.
Excess water and under mixing may reduce yield and workability. Over mixing may degrade the perlite and increase concrete density, reducing yield. Optimum mixing cycle can usually be determined with one or two trial batches.
