Considered the little brother to the Galaxy DX959, the DX979 deserves it's own recognition. The shining qualities in this radio include single sideband ( USB / LSB ) as well as a large easy-to-read display. The built-in auto-calibbrating SWR meter is a trademark feature that you won't find in many other CB's. The difference of this radio versus the Galaxy DX959 is that you won't find a frequency display, as a result the overall size of the chassis has been decreased to that of the Cobra 29 series.
