John deere 3020 diesel tractor ie- 2020 4020 3010
* 3-Point on Back, Drawbar, 1 Hydraulic Remote Set
* 60% Rear 15.5x38's Tires, 50% Front Recap Tires.
* Real Good Synchro Shift Transmission- 8F/2R.
The front sides screens are with the tractor and in good condition and were just not put back on after it was last serviced. The rest of the dash warning lights with oil pressure, etc. work as does the water temp. gauge works. 3 of the 6 photos above were taken with a cell camera which is why the color is greyish.
Clutch is new just 2 years ago and the injuctor pump is new too. The John Deere 3-Point on back is complete except for a top center link as you see a lot. No blowby or smoke and doesn't use oil and starts good / normal. The 3020 has its famous 4-Cylinder John Deere Diesel Engine...I answered a question below saying it was a 6-Cylinder but it is a 4-Cylinder and runs great. Shifting is solid. Like I mentioned at the begining this is the farms everyday work, mowing, cutting and haying tractor. This is a solid 3020 tractor with real good sheet metal and hood too.
(Note see the EXAMPLE 3020 show tractors painted nice in the last pictures above and a couple vintage ads. If someone wants a good farm paint job on this we have a local painter who can do that for $650 including prep., sanding, primer, paint and decals. It would look pretty good or a lot sharper than it does now in its work clothes, though it still looks good as we said the sheet metal is all pretty good on it. A person could then order new rear side panels if they wished, $75/each, and if you wanted new yellow side hood emblems they are $75/side. The left side battery box is fairly new as you can see and i you'd want a right side battery box they run $85. You'd have a real sharp looking farm tractor when done.)

John Deere 3020 model Background: There are many discussion boards out there that have on them things like: "The 4020 and 3020 models are the best tractors ever made." as one Indiana farmer posted, or a local mechanics statement that: "The 3020 is arguably one of the best tractors John Deere ever made." Yes the 3020 is arguably one of the best results of John Deere's "New Generation of Power" era as part of the "Generation II" period and this is from another Deere collectors website:
"The story told is that one of John Deere's early partners found him working on one of his early plows and chided him for time and effort being spent improving what was already the best and widely used plow on the market. 'We must continue to improve our product,' Deere reportedly answered, 'or the others will and we will lose our trade.' In much the same spirit, the 3010 and 4010 were replaced just three years after their introduction. The Reason: The engineers had developed something better...the 3020 and 4020. More powerful then the tractors they replaced they were destined to become the most popular tractors of their time."
