ECONOMY Engines: Production of Economy engines began in Sparta, Michigan, by mid-1909. For the year prior to that, Economy engines were provided for Sears, Roebuck & Co. mail order by the Waterloo Gas Engines Company. At Sparta the model A was the first one produced. It would appear that the engine designer took several ideas from the Waterloo engine. The Sparta Economy had some unique features of it own though too. Figure if you are in AL, AR, LA, or Tennessee to deliver by the nearest Interstate figure $75. Any state next to those figure $125 like TX, GA, MO, KY, SC or NC. Any state bordering those figure $200 or maybe $150. And then $200-250 to any state in the far northeast or far northwest U.S. like Washington, Oregon, ID, MT, Maine, NH, VT and again as long as you can meet driver by the Interstate there.
