New CO2 laser focusing mirror optic in holder cnc
NEW 110 degree Laser focusing handpiece Assembly!
When using this handpiece for focusing a laser for laser cutting, the small exit hole is advantageous: you can push air or another "assist gas" through the cylinder, out of this hole and towards the target of the laser. This serves two purposes: first, it protects the optic from smoke damage - the smoke cannot come in through the tiny hole when there is a flow of gas out of the hole. Even a very modest flow would serve this purpose. Second, it can serve as an "assist gas" in cutting - i.e. when doing laser-cutting you'll want to have a flow of gas that will blow away at the workpiece and clear the molten / evaporated material as it is being heated by the laser. This yields much better cuts and is mandatory in many cases.
