These are used units that came from a major retailer. They are in perfect working condition. They do not come with an operating system. The have a 40G hard drive and 512MB of RAM. We've sold over 70 of the units..
These units were designed with a plastic cover that closes down over all the external connectors. You can see this in 3 of the 6 pictures. For security in a store there was a thumbscrew that could be screwed in to hold the plastic cover down. If you look at the last picture you can see damage to where the screw would go. As a result, you cannot seal the plastic cover down. This does not effect functionality in any way. I have multiple units and they have similar damage to the screw holes.
They can be used as a generalized touchscreen PC when you install windows XP and the appropriate drivers (from IBM's site).
These units come with the optional Bar Code Scanner!!! IBM charges more than $189 just for this item!!!!
All documentation and drivers are available in IBM's website. These can run either Windows XP or a version of Linux for use as part of a POS system.

* Two, 35 mm integrated speakers in specially designed, acoustically ported enclosures to maximize both the volume and frequency response (except Model 13V)
* Headphone and microphone jack
* Hidden and optionally tamper-proof controls through a snap-on cover for power on/off, brightness, and contrast
* Ethernet support (10/100 UTP)
* 2 PC USB 2.0 ports for attached input/output (I/O). (Each port can provide 500mA at +5V to external devices). Third party USB hubs can be connected for additional USB ports.
* 1, 9-pin, non-powered EIA-232 port
* Mounting holes providing 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 mm spacing, which is compatible with the VESA standard
