From a closed locksmith, this is a vintage Russwin art deco, solid brass mail slot set. The sloped plate fits on the inside of the door or wall to deflect the mail downward. The other , spring loaded plate is mounted on the exterior of the door or wall. The slot opening measures 1 5/16" x 7". Very well made of heavy cast brass.
