He was interested in art at a very early age and at fifteen he apprenticed in an advertising agency/art studio in Edinburgh. In the last number of years, Doug has travelled extensively throughout North America and Europe and feels this has played an important role in the subject matter of his paintings. He has had numerous successful exhibitions of his work in Oakville, Ontario - where he resides with his wife, Janice, and daughter, Kristin.
