Precision Planting Planter Meter Parts John Deere Kinze
Improve planter performance where it counts in the meter.
The Precision Meter the complete replacement meter, now with an adjustable brush!!
Order the complete Precision Meter and get SkipStop, PopMax and the Precision Finger Set, plus specially designed belts, cams, covers, bearings, housings and drive wheels. All designed and tested to work together for maximum precision. Each Precision Meter will be factory tested to plant medium round seeds.
Here is another simple idea that will make you more money.
The seed belt in your finger meter is often ingnored. The belt has a very important job. After the fingers have singulated a seed, the belt has to deliver that seed to the seed tube. The hand-off between the meter and the seed tube is critical for proper spacing. The seed needs to be released consistently so that each seed follows the same trajectory down the tube. Current belts hand off the seed on the right, center or left side of the seed tube.
The inconsistent position of the seed on the belt causes an inconsistent ride down the seed tube. And that inconsistency shows up in the field as spacing errors.
By cupping the belt s flights, we can funnel the seed to the center of the seed tube every time. This provides a much more consistent hand off . . . and a more consistent seed tube ride.
A simple idea that eliminates one more place where we lose spacing . . . and yield
Skip Stop eliminates seed bounce in the belt housing.
Skip Stop is a replacement belt housing cover that has a patented cushion system that eliminates seed bounce in the belt housing of finger pickup meters. Seeds hit this cushion and drop directly onto the seed belt for delivery to the seed tube.
One major source of skips in your fields is seed bounce. As seeds are ejected from the meter into the belt housing, they bounce, rattle and roll inside the chamber. Too often, they ricochet right back into the meter, causing a skip.
The SkipStop cover replaces your existing cover. Just screw the new plate to your meter. You only need to drill one new mounting hole on your meter to secure SkipStop.
Pop Max backing plate boosts performance in a wide variety of seed types
This replacement backing plate has four big advantages over metal plates:
* They are flatter eliminating the skips that occur as fingers rock and roll over the warped spots on stamped metal plates.
* They match seed size just swap inserts and you can change the aggressiveness of the backing plate to match flats and rounds.
* They reduce ricochet the smaller exit hole reduces the chances that seeds can ricochet back into the meter.
Population Max is a specialized poly backing plate that replaces the metal plate in your current meter. Population Max uses a special Kevlar impregnated poly to produce a flatter, more consistent platform for finger sets.
Now with an adjustable brush to quickly adapt to seed size
Stop doubles or triples. A flatter backing plate provides a solid base for fingers. In these photos, a warped metal backing plate allows fingers to hold onto a group of seeds. The result in your field is a double or triple.
See how this happens in our video clip.
Stop skips due to ricochet. The large exit hole in metal backing plates allows seeds to bounce back into the meter. The Population Max exit hole is the same size and shape as the finger. So the finger effectively closes over the exit hole preventing seeds from bouncing back into the meter.
New Precision Meter adjustable brush lets you adapt to seed size
Here is the brush that has revolutionized mechanical seed metering. In the past, your finger meter was calibrated for a single seed size or shape. Well, the real world doesn't come in one size or shape. With the Adjustable Brush, you can quickly and easily change the characteristics of your meter to match your seeds.
For small seeds, just adjust the brush closer to the base of the backing plate. That way the brush aggressivly reaches under the finger to reduce doubles. Then for larger seeds, adjust the brush away from the base of the backing plate. Now the softer brush isn't overly agressive which can cause skips.
There's a handy reference guide that shows where to set the brush for various seed sizes and shapes. And your Precision Planting dealer can help you determine the precise setting for each of your seed types.
Even better: Use the 20/20 SeedSense - with it's ability to measure skips and doubles - to give you an instant snapshot of meter performance. Too many skips - move the brush away from the backing plate. Too many doubles - tighten up the brush.
Give your finger meters the flexibility you only thought was possible with a vac meter.
The Adustable Brush is only available for use in Precision Planting's Population Max backing plate.
We ve taken a fresh look at the fingers and made some major improvements:
*New springs and spring attachment provides more consistent tension to hold large rounds and small flats.
*New finger cover provides better finger support to keep seeds from escaping under loose fingers.
*New finger contour grabs rounds and flats and locks them under the flag for fewer skips
*Chrome coating eliminates rust and extends life.
Using a high speed camera, Precision Planting saw: that existing fingers allowed some flat seeds to escape from under a finger that has too flat a rear hook. Because the finger doesn t follow the contour of the backing plate, seeds can get pinched against the outer wall. Round seeds can cluster under a finger with loose spring tension.
MeterMax technicians can install your Precision Finger Sets and calibrate the meter to match your seed size and shape. Chromed fingers, fine-tuned tension springs, custom cams and covers all contribute to a long-lasting meter that runs like a Swiss watch.
This special blend of talc and graphite improves seed loading and seed release and that improves seed spacing. eFlow improves the flow of seed from the hopper to the meter. In the meter, eFlow ensures that seeds release consistently once the vac is shut off and seeds drop to the seed tube. The addition of graphite, especially in smaller seeds, helps seeds slide off the disk like clockwork.
Just mix cup of eFlow per 80,000 seeds. On large seeds, 60# or more per 80,000 seeds, reduce the rate to 1/8 cup.
eFlow is available in a convenient 8# jug. That s enough to lubricate 130 units of seed corn. We ve also developed a clean and convenient measuring lid that fits the eFlow jug. The lid meters 1/8 cup of eFlow with each turn of a handle two turns equals cup delivered directly into the hopper. Treated seeds with a rough coating may need more eFlow.
Don t exceed the recommended amounts. Too much talc can inhibit seed flow especially in high humidity. Watch for talc or eFlow accumulations at the bottom of the seed hopper or meter.
Precision Planting Powder Graphite
For all finger meters and CNH air planters, this premium graphite extends wear life and improves meter performance. Graphite provides the lubrication needed to prevent wear on meter components. It also improves seed flow and can improve meter performance. But, as with most things, a little is good , but a little more can be bad. A tablespoon per bag (80,000 seeds per unit) is recommended. With heavy seed treatments, increase to 2 tablespoons. It is important that new meters, or meters that have been cleaned, get a good, early dose of graphite to prevent seed treatment from sticking to bare metal. Mix the graphite into the seed to prevent uneven settling.
Precision Graphite is available in 1# and 5# containers.
