THESE PHONES USE THE PUSH TO TALK BUTTON FOR THE OFF/ON SWITCH AND VELCRO TO HOLD THE BATTERY. THIS MEANS NO MORE UNHOOKING THE BATTERY TO SHUT THEM OFF!!!! These are Telephone handsets that I have rewired myself to be used as cable tracers. By connecting a 9 volt battery to these you are able to talk from one handset to the other. I have personally used handsets like these to talk on cables over 1000 feet long. Regular tone tracer can bleed over onto another cable putting doubt as to what cable is the correct one. These phones will only talk to each other if they are hooked to the correct cable on each end. Making the identification positive. I am a licensed electrician and have used these for years. All connections are made with solderless terminals and the ends of cables have been soldered to keep the from fraying. These have been built to last many years and be very reliable. THESE ARE NOT TO BE USED ON LIVE CIRCUITS. The price of 42.99 includes 2 handsets a case and 2 test lead ties. I will also throw in a greenlee tools carpenter pencil with every set.
