John bean hit miss antique engine cushman design n/r

Here we have a 6 horse antique gas one-lunger engine from a John Bean sprayer. I looked hard through the internet and could find very little on this engine, but apparently it was designed and built by Cushman for John Bean and is known as a "bean special" Two sizes were made, 4 horse and 6 horse, this one is the larger. The first ones were in production in 1921, and had the radiator (yes, this is water cooled) inside the flywheel. The later ones had the radiator between the flywheel and the block. This one is the early one. Production of the later engines had stopped by 1928. I've always known this style of engine as a "hit and miss" engine.
This particular engine has been in my family since bought new. My Dad removed it from the sprayer sometime in the 1950's and eventually I would up with it with the intent of restoring it to operation condition. It does turn over, the piston is not stuck, but effort is required to turn it. As far as I can tell, the engine is complete, the only broken part would be the spark plug. The cover on the magneto has seen better days. I honestly have no idea if the radiator holds water, I've not tested it. Too many projects, this one has to go.
