HARDINGE D1 SKIVING TOOL HOLDER

The Skiving Tool Holder is used to hold skiving tools to produce parts to close tolerances with fine surface finishes.
The holder can be adjusted to bring the skiving tool parallel with the spindle centerline using the two adjusting screws located on the top of the holder.
The holder has a built-in 5 degree angle for tool clearance. It mounts directly at the rear position of a cross slide and is keyed to the cross slide with a non-removable key to prevent pivoting.
The holder uses skiving tools 3/8" (9.53 mm) thick, from 1-7/16" (36.51 mm) minimum to 2-1/16" (52.39 mm) maximum in length, and up to 1-1/2" (38.10 mm) in width.
Diameters up to 1-1/8" (28.58 mm) can be skived.
This skiving tool passes under the workpiece at an angle so that only one point of the tool is in contact with the workpiece at a time.
