This is a very nice TDS684B fast sampling high bandwidth scope. All 4 channels can sample each channel at the same time at 5 billion samples per second. This scope is completely real time, and has a single shot bandwidth of 1 Giga-hertz on all channels at the same time, which is its big selling point.
Controls and the display are excellent. If it does not look correct in the photos, it is a photo effect. There are the typical signs of lab use but not abuse.
There is not allot of differences between this scope and say a TDS684C with the same options, if any. I think when the TDS 684C came out you could get a the Hard Drive (HD that allowed you to run Java applications). Otherwise, I think the scopes were pretty much identical (as always, download the specs from tek.com and compare for yourself... If you need the communications options or the hard drive options then this scope is not for you.
The display pictures show a fast rise signal to one or all four channels. I intentionally left ch4 at a larger amplitude on one of the all channels picture so you could better see what the scope was seeing. The duel zoom photo did not turn out well but sure is a cool function in person.
