1908 aermotor windmill patent diagrams, pat. no.897XXX
In August of 1905 the founder of the Aermotor Co. , La Verne Noyes, filed a patent application for the modifications to the main frame of the Model 1903 Pumping Aermotor in production at that time. Almost immediately he converted production of that mill to his new R. A. Pumping Aermotor which included his invention of removable/ replaceable babbitted shaft casings. The R.A. designation stood for Replaceable Arms. Oddly enough this patent was not issued until Sept. 1, 1908, as Pat. No. 897XXX, several years following its introduction. The patent diagram provides an early glimpse of changes and upgrades made to the 1903 Pumping Aermotor mills.
