Premier centauri er yag surgical laser surgery system
This listing is for a new (old stock) unused Premier Laser Systems CENTAURI Surigcal Er:YAG Laser System.
Each box was opened to visually inspect the contents. I removed one from the box(es) to take pictures and perform some fundamental testing (see test results below). The other unit remains in it s box(es), never removed, and remains untested by me.
From what I can gather, this laser system is complete except for a fiberoptic delivery system, which was supplied in two general types, being bare fibers and/or contact and non-contact tips. For surgical and ophthalmic use, these were supplied in sterile, single patient use disposable format. For Dental use, they were provided as reusable, non-sterile to be sterilized by the dentist. I do not know if these are generic components and still available for this unit, so be sure you can obtain suitable fiberoptic delivery system(s) for the laser before purchasing.
Tested / inspected as follows:
Both units are new in condition, with no signs of usage or damage to any visible components. All accessories are in original packaging.
As described above, I took the time to test one of the two units - the one in the pictures. Testing involved filling the unit with deionized water for the internal cooling system, connecting two hoses and three cords (see pictures), which was quite time consuming. On power-up, the test unit went through initialization and self-test procedures without issue, but failed an internal calibration test with a "calibration failed" message on the screen (pictures available). I could hear and see the laser firing, so I am not sure if this represents a problem or if the calibration process required an external fiberoptic delivery system to successfully complete. From the screen where the calibration failure was displayed, you can press enter which allows you to continue on the the main menu.
