These are excellent for gain-clone type amplifiers and VERY quiet and precise power supplies (ask me if you want a good circuit diagram for this). This device is in an SO220-7 package and can sustain 3A continuous and 5A peak output with up to +/- 30V power supply rails. With the right heat sink, this is 24W into 8 ohms - continuous, 40W peak.
Amazing for an op amp! With excellent power supply rejection they can be used with cheaper power supplies and still yield excellent audio output quality.
I used these to make the QUIETEST power supply I've ever seen. I've also made a few small dorm room amplifiers (20W per channel or so) that simply blow away the crud you get at the department stores!
