This adaptor will allow a 3.5mm stereo jack plug to be used with a 2.5mm stereo jack socket. This is ideal for many of today's MP3 players that are manufactured with the smaller 2.5mm socket but where the user wishes to use headphones fitted with a 3.5mm plug.
