PHOTON ATP-SM COMPACT VARIABLE ATTENUATOR FOR CCD
ATP-SM Continuously Variable Attenuator for Any Camera System Photon's Model ATP-SM is a convenient solution for those who need to attenuate the varying laser beam energy levels that occur while monitoring a focusing or adjustment process. The continuously variable attenuator package gives you the ability to make fine adjustments over five orders of magnitude, while maintaining the integrity of the beam profile. CCD arrays are sensitive and have a very narrow inherent dynamic range. It is common that at the same attenuation density, an unfocused beam may be scarcely visible, while the focused beam is saturated. The ATP-SM provides a simple easy-to-use solution for this situation that does not require any disruption to the optical train. Simply slide the attenuator wedges with the handy thumb slides until the desired intensity is seen on the cameras output screen. The attenuation range is from ND1.7 to ND7.4. The ATP-SM overcomes the trials associated with devising your own attenuation scheme. You no longer need to concern yourself with matching up the right pairs of filter OD values; dealing with poor quality glass or coatings; fixturing the filters; and trying to minimize the effects of multiple interference fringe patterns
