TrueMASS Precision Weights are manufactured of the finest stainless steel available in the market. This material has low magnetic susceptibity, uniform consistency and high resistance to corrosion. The stainless steel used is similar to material specified in the manufacture of state primary standards.
The weights have strict specifications for surface finish, manufacturing, material density and magnetic properties. These specifications allow the weights to maintain their small tolerances over time. These weights are designed for the most challenging weighting applications.
TrueMASS Precision Weights are available in either one-piece or two pieces construction. One-piece construction indicates the weight is manufactured from a single uniform piece of raw material and it has not method of adjustment other than removing material. Two-pieces construction means the weight is made of multiple pieces of raw material. The body of the weight is one piece and the knob is the second piece. The knob has a thread that screws into the body and is tightened. There is a cavity below the knob thread in the body which contains adjusting material
Our weights are manufactured using the finest Stainless Steel, which has a consistent density. Each weight is market with its nominal value. All surfaces are polished to a perfect mirror-like finish and conform to ANSI/ASTM E617.
All TrueMASS Precision Weight sets are supplied in protective cases. We supply appropriate lifting devices such as forceps and gloves to handle the weights.
In addition, TrueMASS manufactures Cast Iron Grip Handle Weights with high quality iron, free of cracks, pits and sharp edges. Adjusting cavities are in each weight and the cavity opening is located on the side of the weight. Adjusting cavities are sealed with a lead plug and steel back-up spacer to provide a tamper resistant seal of the adjusting cavity. Weights are protected by a durable coat of paint - gold for metric and silver for avoirdupois - to protect the casting from rusting.
