The Tek 2465B scope is perhaps Tektronix's best example of a well deserved best seller: a well designed 4channel 400MHz bandwidth portable package, made from mid-1988 to 1996 that would be useful for decades to come. Cost over $9000 new back in the mid 90s... and here's your chance to get it working like new at a small fraction of its new cost. This was the last scope Tek made to repairable... newer digital scopes sadly become e-waste first time they break. Years from now 2465Bs will still be serving as the pile of junked DSOs grows. DSOs have tried to emulate the features of high performing analog scopes since day-1, and in some respects are still trying. Arguably the only advantage DSOs have is in recording, while still suffering disadvantages in waveform fidelity. If uploading waveforms to your computer is not is not what you plan on doing with a scope, then get the 2465B.
Photo shows the fast rising edge of a 1MHz square wave stretched out at the scope's fastest sweep speed of half a nanosecond/cm. This is a revealing test for weeding out tired horizontal or vertical signal path parts that very few sellers display (and many would not pass).
