The SynOptics Model 5304P Ethernet Host Module is part of the Lattis System 5000 family of network products. You install the Model 5304P module in a Model 5000 chassis where it provides 10 10Base-F fiber optic ports. You can assign any port to any of the 12 System 5000 Ethernet backplane segments or to any of the three module-level local segments not connected to the backplane.
Using the Model 5304P Ehternet Host Module describes the physical characteristics, hardware configuration features, installation, removal, replacement, and troubleshooting the operation of the Model 5304P module. Rules for the layout of Ethernet networks consistent with the range of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.3 Ethernet network specifications are included.
This guide also provides information about using the service port on the SynOptics Model 5000 chassis to configure the connetivity and operating features of the Model 5304P ports.
