15 amp 2008 ul gfci duplex receptacle

A GFCI is an electrical device that reduces the risk of severe or fatal electric shock to the user when an abnormal amount of current is sensed in the circuit. GFCI receptacles are designed to meet various UL standards and updates. This GFCI meets the 2008 updates to UL 943, the UL standard governing GFCI device construction and testing.
The National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), the model code for electrical wiring installations, requires GFCIs for receptacles located outdoors; in bathrooms; garages; kitchens; crawl spaces and unfinished basements; near laundry, utility, and wet bar sinks; and at certain locations such as near swimming pools. Beginning in 2005, GFCIs are also required for laundry sinks, hardwired boat hoists, vending machines, and in outdoor public spaces.
* Meets UL 943 (2008), CUL943 (2008) and UL498 (2007) technical requirements
* Automatic end-of-life detection and indication. When the 2008 UL GFCI fails, internal circuitry prevents the receptacle from providing power and a red LED indicator light will turn on to inform the user the device needs to be replaced
* Prevents line/load reversal mis-wiring. If the wiring is not done correctly, this 2008 UL GFCI will not reset and no power will flow to the outlet
* Capable of withstand 6000V 10,000A instantaneous surge so it will not be affected by lighting strikes and other current surges
* Shock, heat and corrosion proof
* Supply Voltage: 125 VAC 60Hz
* Supply Voltage Range: 102 VAC to 132 VAC
* Operating Temperature Range: -35 deg. C to 66 deg. C
