DCS Interface for Facility-wide Uniformity Biostat D systems can also be configured to accommodate today's various distributed control systems (DCS). NEMA 4X cabinets can be pre-wired for integration with an existing facility DCS (i.e. I/O or "dumb" cabinet), or fully configured by Sartorius BBI Systems with a turnkey DeltaVTM control system.
The baseline control package (micro DCU) includes:
Connectivity for supervisory software (MFCS for Windows SCADA).

in-process pH recalibration functionality.

The microprocessor based micro DCU system is the standard measurement and control system for the Biostat D series. This GAMP compliant system contains all functions, including measurement amplifiers and all actuator signal outputs, located on a common motherboard. The battery-backed memory saves all set points in the event of a power failure. This cost effective system is identical to controllers available on fermentors and bioreactors from laboratory through pilot/productic scale, thus providing consistency of operator training and scalability. The micro DCU is available with LCD and membrane keypad as well as a color touch screen display. Functions included meet the most common application requests, and includes spare I/O capacity to add additional sensors and control functions (i.e. cell density, automatic backpressure, load cells for weight measurement). For data logging, the micro DCU includes connections for a printer (RS-232), recorder (0-10 V analog), MFCS/DA (RS-232) or MFCS/win SCADA software (RS-422).
