Front nose piece is rougher but a NEW grill and front emblem comes with. And a good fender comes with to replace the one with rust or a ding on it. Fuel system has a leak to be looked at before you'd run it a lot is the other notice on it. Has drawbar, hyd. remotes set and PTO on back so along with the Power Steering it has a lot of options on it for a 80 model. And the big Diesel Motor doesn't slobber at the exhaust when running it like some do when they aren't strong as they should be.
No cracks or welds we know of. Brakes both work good, Cooling system and Clutch works good, and gears sound good.
If anyone also wants to fill out a trailer load or to help spread out trucking costs see the 1935 BN I'm listing in sw Oregon today in my other listings. Also there in nw Oregon by this 80 we have or know of the following we'd sell:
1. Deere 70 Diesel that runs good, narrow front, needs clutch work, very good tires, 3-Point. $2,800 firm.
2. Black dash 720 LP Standard. Turns over, but not running. (1 of 345 made). Has a Rockshaft. Asking $4,500.
3. John Deere styled B with 3-Point hitch, runs good. $1,750.
4. 1950 late styled BW gas tractor (1 of 3,022 made) but the more specialized vegetable version of that tractor with 42" rears and also called a California BW or a "late styled BWH." Runs great. Tires very good to excellent tread. $3,200.
5. Maybe a running BO Lindeman Crawler at $8,000 or less.
6. 50 wide front restored with nice paint, manual steering, rockshaft. $4,500 obo.
7. 730 electric start, wide front row crop with 3-Point and top link. Straight, nice running original with taper lock flywheel, new water pump and batteries, power steering works nice. $6,200.

From the John Deere Collectors Guide - "The great 80 tractors were the largest John Deeres built in their time and were only made for two short years. The total production run was only 3,491 tractors making the Model 80 the rarest of the big two cylinder John Deere tractors.
The model 80 was introduced in 1955, as a upgrade replacing the older model R. It received new features, such as a bigger diesel engine, and a different starting engine (V-4 instead of opposed two cylinder), and six forward speeds. Options included power steering, PTO (live PTO also available), and remote hydraulics. One very important difference from its predecessor was a set of strong PTO drive gears, which were prone to fail in the R under hard use.
All these features, especially the stronger PTO drive, and power steering made them popular for industrial use too - most often pulling a scraper. Pulling a scraper often required large amounts of rear wheel weights, and even front wheel weights to keep the nose down.The 80 is a Standard-tread tractor also called a Wheatland by others. The quickest way to tell them apart from the Model R which had a Round flywheel cover is the 80 model has a Teardrop shaped flywheel cover like the 820 and 830."
