New fine, very high quality mica wafers. Great for both electronic and many decorative and craft uses. Specifically made for insulating T0-3 body type transistors, thyristors, et al, especially high-voltage or hot-operating (e.g. 2N3055s). For TO-3 transistor use, each transistor requires two stand-offs, one for each screw hole (for TO-3 use, both the mica and the standoffs are used to electrically insulate the electronic component from the aluminum heatsink).
ALSO: High quality mica is one of the most useful, unique, fascinating, wonderous and mysterious natural materials (transparent mineral crystals) - especially its wonderful electrical, thermal and optical characteristics - great for science and physics projects and experiments, and for making your own capacitors and crystal devices.
Uses also include decorative, craft, art, jewelry (often used with quartz crystals, turquois, coral, gemstones and precious metals), costume, New Age, radionics, naturopathy, magic, body piercing, and other hobbyist uses.
Very smooth, clear, transparent (when viewed straight on) and reflective (when viewed at an oblique angle) mica - not that rough, yellowish, translucent, furry stuff you might get from other sources! The standoffs are high temperature plastic washers with a "skirt" and is used to electrically and thermally isolate and insulate any part that is screw-attached to another part. Or they can be strung like beads for necklaces, bracelets, other jewelry, crafts works, decorations, etc.
