Is the cable you are looking at Described as "Compare to" "Replacement for" or "Same as" or even "Like" LMR400 or some other certified standard? This is common with poor quality cable made in Mainland China or some other lesser known locations. Name Brand LMR-400 cable is tested and certified to ensure you will maintain the boost in signal from your quality antennas. 1/2 (.405) inch Cable is perfect for runs when you don't want to loose signal strength but it isn't cheap, so please choose a product that will last for years and give you the service you require.

Cable for CB, Ham and WiFi installs needs to be 50ohms; cheaper cable not meeting this standard or cheap mismatched connectors significantly increases signal loss.
LMR400 Coaxial cable should not be confused with others used for carrying lower frequency signals such as audio signals or Cable TV signals. TV and Satellite type cable is similar in that it consists of a central wire or wires surrounded by a tubular shield conductor, but it is not constructed with the precise conductor spacing needed to function efficiently for radio frequencies.
Cable MUST be precision manufactured with precise standard spacing between conductors to avoid significant signal loss.
