BATTERY CHARGER/ ANALYZER/ CONDITIONER
This Conditioner/Analyzer represents the latest in fast charging and battery maintenance technology. The product uses a microprocessor and digital signal processing to charge, analyze and maintain your Ni-Cd batteries. The proprietary and patented signal processing system uses a distinctive negative-voltage-sensing algorithm to assure accurate and consistent product performance and extend life of your Ni-Cd batteries.
This device will work with any Ni-Cd battery with rated voltages ranging from 4.8V (4 cells) to 14.4V (12 cells). The conditioner is very effective to condition batteries that have developed the so called 'memory effect'. As can be seen in the pictures, a very old Motorola battery after two conditioning cycles regained most of its original capacity. From a dead battery, to 110mAh and finally to 627 mAh (its rated at 700mAh).
Because the original device does not have any power indicator, our R&D department made two red LEDs on the front panel, neatly added to the front graphic, as can be seen in the pictures. Originally, without it there is no indication that the device is on. The LCD will only appear with a battery inserted. To reduce wear and to power off the device when not in use, we added this indicator.
Our R&D department also designed a Universal adapter based on the Thumbwheel BCD decoder to conveniently setup battery voltage. Just set the number of cells and you are done. In the picture you can see it set to 7, which is 8.4V. Possible settings are from 4 9 cells. Included is also the original universal adapter with dip switches for setting voltage. This one is OK to use when you need to setup one voltage and do not have to change it very often.
