Blue copper marans chicken hatching eggs ~rare~ 18+
This breed, which originated in western France in the town of Marans, is best known for its chocolate colored eggs.
It is a fast grower, dual meat and egg bird and stands confinement well..
They are also excellent when allowed to free range as they do not cause the damage to your garden that some breeds do through heavy scratching.
The original French birds have feathered legs as do the majority of ours.....
The Blue Copper Marans are a fairly new variety to the United States....
Our Blue Copper Marans egg color has not been perfected to the extent that our Black Copper Marans have... The eggs are very lovely but not the deep dark color that we hope to achieve in the future......The egg color is steadily improving but is still considerably lighter than our Black Coppers.....
These are simply beautiful and gentle birds.....
Roosters average 8 lbs. Hens average 7 lbs....
Rooster to hen ratio is 2 to 8 in this coop......
We continually strive to improve this line of Marans by always using honorable breeding practices and following the French standard... enhancing the most desirable characteristics and encouraging depth of egg color....
