This is a brand new 230 volt Compressor Start Relay for the Bunn CDS-2 machine, part number 27406.0002. Note this is for the 230 volt machine - if your machine runs on 120 volts please purchase part number 27406-0000 from the Margarita Guys store.
A relay is a switch - this type of relay uses a low voltage signal to activate a magnetic coil that pulls a second set of higher-voltage electrical contacts together. Essentially this allows the main control board (computer) of the CDS-2 machine to send a low voltage start signal to the compressor and the relay send higher voltage to the starting capacitor and compressor motor.
